Attitude
We are in our 50s/early60s and prefer a slower pace. We are not into "Aneurysm Bluegrass" but do like a lot of bluegrass songs, just not the type that are so fast you can't breathe. We would like to play with a guitar player and bass player. My husband plays guitar but prefers to fiddle. We are not into the show as much as we are into the shared experience of playing music and making people happy. Low key. We wouldn't mind playing out a little but not into the wee hours of the morning.
Influences
We are a foursome in our fifties and sixties looking for others to play Old Time, Folk, and Bluegrass music with. We like Gillian Welch, Carter Family, Nancy Griffith, Traditional songs, Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Jimmie Rodgers, Hazel Dickens. I can sing and yodel and play banjo and a little guitar, an intermediate beginner, and my husband plays guitar, fiddle, upright bass, mandolin, and a little banjo. We love that old couple "Annie and Mac" who have some nice videos on YouTube. We are in the Stevens Point area. We have just been joined by a female harmony singer and very good Carter-style guitarist.
