WHAT KIND OF MUSIC: Seeking to collaborate on a smart sounding amalgam of electronica/lofi/jazz/occasional lyrics. Also open to gig-ing doing jazz standards etc. with some practice together. MY "BIO" AND WHAT'S BEHIND THE IDEA OF WHATEVER MUSICAL PROJECTS: So I was a long-time poet and spoken word performer throughout the Northeast (MA, NH, VT, ME, NJ - 2006 - 2013) and was regualrly booked by various small coffee shops, bars, slam venues, universities, 1st Night Boston, performed at the National Poetry Slam - all with audiences of 5 or 500 - so I'm an experienced performer and ready to merge my strong gift for (hopefully) poignant lyricism with a solid ability to create/refine melody, add tension and backup, polychords, fun riffs, baselines - all in a spirit of listening and collaboration. I've basically been sitting on a lot of music theory ability, a strong ear, and a fair bit of training, and it's time to cash that in and work with one (or more) musicians passionate about creating/performing/recording. WHAT ARE MY WEAKNESSES: I haven't recorded or wielded much by way of software and equipment, but I'm definitely looking to start and I'm a quick study. I should say that I prefer to work with people who share similar values (no bigots or Trump supporters etc.), as well as play with folks who are organized and responsible. I'm genuinely stoked at the possibility to connect with other like-minded musicians eager to get started (or be looped in on an already-going project if there's a chance I'm a good fit). Hey, we might not be a click, and that's OK, but it might be interesting to find out. Say hi!
