Attitude
I'm an older guy (late 50's) looking to jam with other like-minded musicians as an outlet for fun and occasional live performance. I've had my share of touring, making records, studio work, bad hair styles and questionable fashion choices -- and many Spinal Tap moments on the way!
I've been a member of an established band for the last 15 years, but we are rarely getting together these days so looking for a group of easy-going guys and gals willing to put in some rehearsal time and eventually play live.
I'm certainly not the best guitar player you've heard but do want the challenge to get better and surround myself with musicians with the same mindset.
Influences
All the classic rock bands (Zep, Floyd, AC/DC, Sabbath, Aerosmith, Stones, Beatles, The Who, Bowie, Rush, Queen, etc.). I started playing in the 80's so obviously huge influence of that era as well (Police, Clash, Cure). Big prog rock fan (Yes, Genesis, King Crimson, ELP, etc.). Wish I had the chops to play that stuff but willing to try with the right band!
I am comfortable outside the traditional rock and pop zone as well. For many years, I played in a Brazilian jazz trio and even had a stint as the guitar player for a praise and worship group for a local church.
Equipment
Guitars up the wazoo. Multiple amps and pedals. I'm set up to play through live amps and cabinets or in a "quiet" stage set up using amp modeling. Would prefer playing with in-ear monitoring (have my own) but happy with a wedge in front of me as well. Have mics for the occasional background vocals.
