I've had great acoustic drum kits, like a Yamaha Custom Recording Series and Dunnett Titanium Snare drum, etc., but all were at the mercy of the room I was playing in. Not my Pearl Mimic Pro: It always sounds like a studio recorded kit - unless I choose to make it sound like a garage band, old Motown, etc. I can get the exact sound I need for the song at the required dB level needed for the room (quiet or loud). I love playing for an audience and want to get back out there... I have a great Bass Guitar player and need to find someone who can play guitar and sing lead. Maybe a keyboard player that can sing as well. Looking to play a few weekends per month (still have day job). Thinking Tiki Bars / Clubs. Keep the band small 3-4 people. Have fun and make a little cash.
John Bonham (Led Zeppelin), Bill Buford (Yes/King Crimson/UK), Phil Collins (Genesis/Brand X), Alan White (Yes), Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree/King Crimson). I’ve been influenced by all of the music that I’ve covered that has expanded my playing and style. Everything from Steely Dan, Tom Petty, America, Carole King, Van Morrison, Pink Floyd, Springsteen, Eagles, Snow Patrol, Weezer, Doobie Brothers, The Pretenders, Beatles, James Taylor, No Doubt, Santana, CCWR, Traveling Wilburys, John Mayer, Eagles, Adele, Death Cab for Cutie, Bryan Adams, Maroon 5, Motown, current pop songs, and more.
Pearl Mimic Pro, Roland TD30 Pads, SPD-30, SPD-SX, Roland and ATV Cymbals, QSC K12.2, Mackie 15A Thump.
