Attitude
I gave up my wildly lucrative music career (!) a few years ago in order to start my own business, and I have a very lovely four-month-old baby now, so I’ve had a bit of a break from music. But I guess that’s helped me get my priorities in order! I want to rehearse once a week, gig a bit around Hastings/Sussex, maybe a festival or two, record with good musicians, but not up for a music career and don’t want to disappoint anyone.
Looking for nice friendly non-alcoholic bandmates, male or female, 20s or 30s, perhaps…
- an electric guitarist?
- a string player with a sense of melancholy grandeur?
- laptop or other electronic/experimental musicians?
- a drummer?
- someone else, maybe you?!
I’ve got a handful of songs ready to flesh out, would also *love* to write new stuff in collaboration, or work out other people's songs. Anyone with technical/production skills & kit especially welcome. ;-)
Influences
Hello!
I’m Jen and I’m an alt/folk vocalist. I write songs and play guitar, banjo, folk harp, ukulele and piano and also mess around with drones and loops. Influences: Bill Callahan, Sam Amidon, Joanna Newsom, old Appalachian music, northern soul, 90s Pavement/Nirvana stuff, lots more.
