Main goal is to make good music, get better over time, and have a good time. I’m primarily a singer, but can also handle simple rhythm guitar if helpful. I’m not looking for anything super hardcore but more of a fun, motivated group that rehearses regularly. I really value good vibes in a band. Ideally this is a setup where we can rehearse, jam, try new ideas, and then grab a beer or coffee after and just hang out. Low ego, collaborative, and easygoing. About me: I’m Max, 26, originally from Denmark, living in NYC for a little over two years now (staying long-term). Based on the Upper West Side. Reliable, on time, and here for good music + good energy.
I’ve been singing with a coach since I was around 8 and have played in bands through high school and university. Back then it was mostly rock, punk, and some lighter metal (Bring Me The Horizon, Linkin Park, Green Day, Skillet), which I still love for the energy and live feel. These days I’m more into jazz, indie rock, funk, and folk, and I like mixing styles instead of sticking to one genre. Some artists I’ve been listening to and inspired by a lot lately: Laufey, King Krule, DICE, Still Woozy, Cautious Clay, Tai Verdes, Remi Wolf, Esperanza Spalding, Hiatus Kaiyote, and Royal Otis. Bit all over the place, but that’s kind of the point. I like experimenting and seeing what sticks. Vocally I’m on the deeper side (bass/baritone range), but I’ve got decent range and flexibility, and I’m comfortable adapting to different styles.
